What kind of time would you suggest? I have an interesting opportunity... quick upgrade to Capt on a Beech 200 or take a more permanent right seat position on a Saab 340.
Beech 200 MTOW 12,500 lbs and the Saab is greater than 12,500... does it make a difference to the decision makers during the hiring process?

I think you need 1000 pic to be a captain on a jet, dont you? In my case, I went into a Saab-sized plane with at least 1000 multi-pic. The next time I logged PIC was at Westjet, 8 years later. It's tough to go back, so make sure your T's are crossed and I's dotted before you get too far into it! Cheers, and good luck.

I agree with this. PIC is king. Also though, it's great that you've set WJ as your goal. I did too. But something else i had to consider was, where would i like to be if the music stops or WJ simply never calls. Not trying to discourage you, just saying don't put all your eggs in the WJ basket. Consider which of the 2 job options you'd be happiest with in the long run.Four1oh wrote:get the pic. if you go for the 340, it'll be a long time before you ever log pic again. get it now while you can.
