I'm sure that most CPs and OMs have better things to do than talk about pilot resumes. With the implementation of SMS, new weights, constant regulatory changes, training standards, duty days, and just your everyday flight operations, I'm sure most will agree time is better spent on these items rather that a pilot bashing "free for all".

And for those pilots who think that your CP or OM doesn't know what it's like on the line, try sitting behind his/her desk for a day.

But remember these guys who are parnoid about this issue probably never held the position and their fears are based on tha actions of the O.M. 's and C.P.'s that work for the bottom feeders in the charter buisness.

And of course these are not true Ops managers and Chief Pilots.

They are window dressing to deflect accountability away form TC and the owner.

A dedicated group of real O.M.'s and C.P.'s would weed out these window dressing s.

Lets pretend this here thread is the CP's DFO's forum. I am a DFO looking for some advice on a certain topic that would make my job easier. Since I don't know who are the CP's or DFO's on here I ask in a forum environment.

Example:

Good day folks. I have an audit coming up next month. Transport wants to see the company "flight follower course" set up and ready. Does anyone have any info or point me in the right direction to satisfy the minimum requirement because I am swamped here at work and can't dedicate the time to do this right now.

Again, you've just proven the point. Nothing is secret in aviation and with the chance someone might know who you are. Your toast. Just like that. I know at least twelve people on this site who have no idea who i am. Transports not that dumb. They have ways of following theads. So be careful and never let anyone know your swamped with your duties. Especially transport.

I think Capt S&J has it right on. If there is even the smallest chance that even one persons career may me hurt by this forum, then it cannot be allowed. It would end up in a legal battle in which AV Canada would be sued by the person whos career was hurt. Just a heads up guys, it will become a liability issue. This fact should make you stop this before it ever happens.

No person that is not qualified on the type of aircraft you fly questions your professionalism, so should no one that is NOT qualified as a transport approved DFO/CP question the intentions of exchange of operational information between companies. Thats all it is...operational info exchange.

Dude(tte) Of course everyone talks!!! You think stopping an all DFO/CP forum is gonna end that. Also there are laws guarding against any defamation of character and/or slander against anyone. Will this work all the time....no. All you need is to get busted once and you are in a lot of trouble. Deep trouble.

The owner of this site will not stand for any attacks on character. If someone calls looking for a reference on someone legally I cannot give a bad reference. A good one or none at all. Just confirming the start and end dates. If I called some company looking for a reference and that company told me just that,(start and end date), I would try the next company down the list...and if I got the same thing I would begin to wonder. 3rd time...well... :roll:

People in the DFO/CP positions that start rumours are amateurs. However I understand you concerns and there are 'evil doers' that would use that forum for crap like that.

However...not this kid.

I prefer people coming in and sitting down for a while. I always make time for people that make the drive to see us. 200 hours or 20000 hours. I did it. I know what it is like spending money criscrossing the country looking for work with no money to do it in the first place.

I will never treat anyone with disrespect...200 hours or 20000 hours. We are people first....professionals second.

Since you are begging for a picture...I'll do one better, I'll have my people put you at the top of the mailing list for my fan club. But I kindly ask you not call the office as much anymore. The girls are over worked as it is with my fan mail. Would you consider working there part time...I think that is a good compromise. Beats posing as a cleaning lady just to get into my hotel room to smell my underwear?

There was an indication of the fact that there had been numerous people interested in being involved........I would be very curious to see who they are and the organizations they represent.

A meeting place perhaps. A sharing of ideas, and or questions about behind the scenes work of running a company that frontline people dont really see, or even care to see. DFO's and CP's generally work long hours and take their work home with them. Line people punch in punch out. And thats not a comment of superiority....I've been on both sides of the fence.

It would be nice to get to the point of the matter. Not having to shift through useless posts and rants about a posed question or concern. A targeted audience. If I want to ask a question of people that work for AC...I wouldn't go to the Jetsgo forum.

Who really knows, however if it's not tried or if it goes no where then so be it. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

When you've mastered flying straight and level @ FL190...come over and we'll let you try 60* bank turns 30 feet above burning trees all the while controlling traffic in and out of the restricted control zone and 4-500 hundred feet above your head. Afterwards Driving Rain and CLGuy would take you to school in the CL415 and your primitive instincts would put you in the fetal position. But we won't put you over actual fires at first. There arn't enough diapers and bonnets in the world for that exercise just yet. :wink: :P :lol:
