I found a good number of threads. Everyone is so angry, I guess it's not a subject that is to be re-opened, there is enough to find on the previous threads. Well, I'll follow through my plan, like everyone here does. I'll search more in the future.mellow_pilot wrote:Good attitude bud. I like it.

Cheers to all!

Imagine a world where every young aviator wanted to buy their type ratings along with the 50K they have already spent. Companies would stop paying for training forcing pilots to pay for their training. Remember that these companies are always searching to cut cost!
There is a big struggle worldwide between pilots and companies, over wages. Giving a company an excuse to screw pilots even more, does not help.
Like I said...take your steps into aviation. Forget about a 747 type rating. I too wanted to fly big jets when I started. But now I learned from many experienced pilots that it's not as great as it seems! Automation has taken over the fun of flying....check out this thread on avcanada:

I have also learned that there is much more to aviation then flying pax around. Aerial fire fighting and suppression, looks super interesting to me now. A lot of hand flying!
Aviation is vast and there is so much to learn. Everyday I learn new things.
It starts by concentrating on perfecting your training.

Asking a pilot about what he thinks of Transport Canada, is like asking a fire hydrant what does he think about dogs.
You're absolutely right. Everything you said makes perfect sense. I would probably still buy my type rating, but you're right there about other possibilities. I, myself, would love to do humanitary missions in Africa. I guess we all have a little something on the side.THEICEMAN wrote:Rimsky...Rimsky ...RIsmky

Rimsky...
Look, you want to buy a type rating..cool!
But just keep it on the down low!
People are just gonna crap all over you here on the avcanada forum. It's the truth, there are many ill-tempered people here that are looking to cause conflict with those who desire to buy type ratings.
Especially in the real world! Your fellow pilots will like it so much....

Maybe it was not clear enough: if you want to fly a 737 in Canada, then DO NOT buy your type rating, you won' t be hired. You're absolutely right. Everything you said makes perfect sense. I would probably still buy my type rating, but you're right there about other possibilities. I, myself, would love to do humanitary missions in Africa. You have to accumulate experience and turbine time, this is the only way to fly a jet in Canada.

Apparently if you train on the B747-400 you're eligible to pilot the 747-300/200 as well...."

Oh man, get a life. Comes here with old school insults, quotes me and iceman. Trailer Park boy, what you just wrote here, just prooves to what point of a "trailer park" trash you are. Please refrain from such posts, they pollute the forum. I'm sorry, maybe we should add a trailer trash section here, have you feeling a little more cozy? Eh?Trailer Park Boy wrote:Well this is what I figgured the whole time . Theiceman & Rimsky two homosexuals show'n a bunch of pilots their ass.
