Manitoba medevac company going international?
I see the Global thread was deleted, but I am curious about one of the last posts that was made on there.
Is it true that a rather large, green, medevac player in Manitoba is going international with jets? This must have been a joke?

The green group has a small, effective niche that (I assume) is very profitable - why would their management want to try anything different and risk upsetting the applecart?
Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

that was a joke...
i fly the three and 23, and in actual fact, those two as well as the metro 2 all have the same fuel capacity... just the payload will vary (the two most of the time is overweight with full fuel)
YEG to YYT is about 2300 nm or 7 hours at over 300 kts. Sounds kinda far, I have heard of PAL going from the rock to Iceland though, but i think thats only about 1400 miles.
The longest I have flown these things was Winnipeg to Willmington Ohio. 850 NM in just over three hours, with about 3.5 - 4 hours endurance left (and a 2200 pound cargo load).

"running off the runway" ??? why do we tear each other down like that?
I know you put a "smiley face" to indicate your "kidding" but that doesn't make it cool. These guys are a great operation, they do so much hard flying just to serve little communities that nobody else will. They run a tight ship to try and keep going to these places with what little revenue they generate. They are not perfect, but neither are any of us. I just don't understand the "kick em when they're down" attitudes in this industry, its like high school. It would be awesome if we would just work together and give each other positive feedback and support.
I don't know? maybe I'm just a idealist, but I think we can do better.

Re: Manitoba medevac company going international?
Ever since the "fund" took these guys over its a bunch of people with no concept of aviation calling the shots. A perfectly good company has been destroyed. I heard through a friend that Kistigan is taking a good beating to them with the 1900 vs the Dash just because they are never there on time, and people jump on whats there and faster...

You would need a good jetstream and low fuel burns heading east bound.Captain Crunch wrote:that was a joke...
