Dave T,

So if I understand correctly, you're still short hours, even after the 100 PIC US that is allowed?
421.34
(a) 250 hours pilot-in-command flight time in aeroplanes which shall include where applicable, a maximum of 100 hours pilot-in-command under supervision flight time completed in accordance with Section 421.11. The pilot-in-command and/or pilot-in-command under supervision flight time shall include a minimum of 100 hours cross-country flight time of which a minimum of 25 hours shall have been by night;
I was going to suggest something like a C208 but ....
Company doesn't operate anything that doesn't require AA's for PIC so that is not an option
So that leaves you with your suggested option of building those hours on your dime. And at 150$/hr, that's another 5000$ on top of your loan, if you went that way. Not an ideal solution in my books.

What about a working as a "Sight Seeing" Pilot ? Towing at a local gliding club ? Jumper Dumper ?

Any other takers ? or options ?

well... If you have a year 'til upgrade, I'm sure you could fill in for a bit somewhere during the busy summer months to get that 30 hours(skydiving etc...) without screwing up your duty times... Don't you think??

If you are in a large center, find out if they have fixed wing traffic and relieve the traffic pilot for two weeks of holidays... say 1.5 per shift, so 3 hours per day morning rush and afternoon rush times five days a week and in two weeks you can be done more or less. Maybe a quick rental trip for pie :smt040

Be sure you get your 25 hours night PIC x/c in!
A lot of people have been tripped up on that
for their AA.

Are there any private owners (152/172/etc)
that you could buy some hours off? Try
putting up a notice around the local airports.
