Re: What headset...
You're going to get hashed about using the "search" button. Not that I'm hinting towards anything .... cou*searchbutton*gh.
. There are stupid amounts of thread with reviews and opinions.
But I would suggest you find yourself a good set of David Clark H10-13.4's. New or used...still going to perform the same and last forever.

God invented the search function, located at the top of this page under the ads, second button on the top row, from the left.

Search isn't working yet. I haven't got around to fixing it.Captain_Canuck wrote:God invented the search function, located at the top of this page under the ads, second button on the top row, from the left.

Hey, don't listen to those guys. I'm guessing you're relatively new to this forum and contrary to what most people here think it's ok to make a mistake.
Anyway, I would definitely recommend going with ANR over passive and it's not that expensive. I just bought a Lightspeed 30G and I absolutely love it. The best thing was that it only cost $500. It's certainly not as good as the Bose ANR but for the price you pay I find the value to be excellent.
Best of luck and happy flying

Re: What headset...
Well, i do use the search button.
but i really see a 50/50 on DC and lightspeed. mostly ANR though. but i don't know how much i want to shell out. i'm going to be getting a loan and i was thinking of spending around $500 for a nice anr set but i jsut dont know. i hear both good and bad about the lightspeed sets. that they are plastic and cheap but there service is awesome. same about DC's. they have a good structure but break a lot. i "have" been doing my research...
i don't know, maybey i'm beatin around the bush with this one, but i'm just looking for some opinions from people that have em. thats all.
thanks guys.

Re: What headset...
Well, ta save you the trouble, i think i'm going to be getting teh H10-13.4S thanks to a fellow avcanada member. Thanks Greg.
though, anyone got any suggestions on a nice pair of sunglasses?
lol, i'll be in more debt from my equipment than my actuall flight training.
I went to the mall the other day and the sunglass hut there only had the oakley whiskers, but they stick out a good 1/4 inch from the side of my head. Those Vedalo alba's look nice. look thin and lightweight. anyone have any experience with them?
EDIT - well, those Bianco's look nice too.

Re: What headset...
Heh....I forgot about the search feature being U/S
. Just to clearify it's H10-13.4 ... no "S". Excellent choice.
As for glasses....get the largest pair you can find and ensure that they are Ray Bans.
Oh oh! And get a leather bomber jacket with a shit load of patches on it ... sheep skin collar manditory in case you were wondering. Ask Hedley where to buy a slick motorcycle so you can drive up side the runway while 172's are taking off and punch towards the sky.

But seriously for glasses try to find some that have thin "arms". These are going to give you the best seal between your head and the ear seal (get gel ear seals on your DC's). Wire arms or flat arms. Wire works best.

Which extension cord can I use to hang myself off of a rafter in my garage? I'm about 200lbs. I'm out of rope and pointy things.

Re: What headset...
Go cheap on the headset. They all work the same and last about the same time.
And sunglasses? Squinting is free.
