BTW there has been some talk of building a 50 seat version of the 400.
Also in the plans to build the 400-X, a 90 seat version I believe...

A certain 'other' large regional carrier is missing the boat here. This should have been a no-brainer years ago (the 400 that is).

The public's perception of a prop driven aircraft is for the most part rather backwards.....relating props to old technology......Beddoe may be right but I guess he could have phrased himself better.
Skyhigh, that is a very good point! Public perception towards turboprops is not very good.....95% of the people who board these aircraft will say, "oh no it's propeller!" Idiots!

The bottom line is, the majority of people don't know much about aviation. When they see Dash-8s, they see the airplane as if it is a small piece of shit or ask if it's safe? Stupid, I know!

Asking a pilot about what he thinks of Transport Canada, is like asking a fire hydrant what does he think about dogs.

Agreed!....but still, there is always a knot in the stomachs of those who just don't understand aviation.
a quote from a passenger who refused to board a flight I took to Hartford, "I am not getting on that Cessna." :? Idiots!

The other thing about the -300 suspension is that there are some leaving airlines like Flybe (who inherited them from BA CityExpress) so the market for "new" -300s might not be as tights as for new -400s.
