Post by flyinhigh »

Hey yall.
I am off to Cancun at the end of next month for a week.
What I am looking for is things to do other than the partying, sluttin it up(going with wife).

I am looking for stuff like, one day I we are going to go to the Mayan ruins.

Is there any other cool things that I should look at checking out. Thanks

I refuse to go bungee jumping... I came into this world because of a broken rubber, I'm not leaving because of one

Yes, the " Island of women ".

There used to be a real neat reef on the S.E. corner of the island that was great for snorkling.

And at night there were lots of women for snorkling.

The most difficult thing about flying is knowing when to say no.

After over a half a century of flying I can not remember even one trip that I refused to do that resulted in someone getting killed because of my decision not to fly.

Hey you are gonna have a blast. We were there last December for 2 weeks and went on alot of excursions. Personally I would avoid xcaret it was very busy with long lines and once you are done the snorkel tour you have to walk back in bare feet if (you did not bring anything to walk in) on less than perfect trails. Chichen Itza ( i think that is right) is well worth going to see. As for any of the ruins tours we were on 3 or 4 of them and they were all first rate. Any of the ALLTOURNATIVE excursions were very good and run by the people who preserve the Mayan ruins and quite a bit of the revenue goes to preservation. Chikin Ha was a great place to visit with a trditional meal cooked on open fires and very fair priced. If you are into diving make sure to catch the ferry to Cozumel for the reef dive it is awesome. Also the cave diving at Chikin Ha is great. For the fishing go to Puerto Aventuras to a place called Captain Ricks. We booked a half day that started in the morning 9am and was scheduled to go till 1 pm but we brought lots of beer and rum and did not get back till 9 pm. tipped about 200 USD and they kept the fish (except a couple the resort cooked for us) and we had a great time. If you would like some of the names pm me and i can see if I can dig them up.
