I am very saddened by this news. I was very impressed with her courage in the face of such aggresive opposition...

Does the almost $10 billion USD in "aid" that the US has given Pakistan in the last 6 years not qualify as genuine enough to be taken out of quotation marks? That's not including the copious humanitarian assistance given in the wake of a terrible earthquake, and another 300 million signed over by Bush and Congress just yesterday...

There’s a fine line between courage and recklessness, and I don’t know what Bhutto expected to accomplish. This result was inevitable and I don’t see anything positive coming out of it. It's only a matter of time before Musharraf's a dead man, and Pakistan's nukes end up in the hands of these taliban barbarians.

Assasins. That should get the peace process started.Nothing motivates fat dumb lazy politicians to get moving than a few of them getting killed.
Nobody gives a rats ass about all the poor people who drowned in the recent floods in Pakistan, but one politician gets killed and now it is a crisis ???

Perhaps if they all found Jesus the fighting would stop as everyone would be on the same side

Although they are burning christian churches and christian homes in India .So it might be a dangerous job to try and convert anyone there.Perhaps we could send those people who knock on my door first

I would not be in least bit surprised if the truth of the matter were that bush-cheney were behind this. How did this alledged suicide bomber get that close to her, it was a planted explosive device on the vehicle, that much is obvious. The terrorists bush-cheney have motive and means to pull off this act of barbarity, and they have barely uttered a word since Mushareff turned Pakistan into a police state. Instability will allow the insertion of U.S. military into the region, which in fact is already happening. The bush-cheney criminal cabal thrive on chaos and mass murder, as per Iraq. They can cry their crocodile tears over this act, it's total Bull.

C'mon guys, you gotta be runnin' outta Kool-aid soon here!

Blaming this on Bush!?! He wishes he had any chance of organizing anything in the chaos that is a political rally in Pakistan. Plus, he just signed over $300 million USD in aid, conditional on the promise of democratic elections. Bush was essentially backing Ms. Bhutto.

Now, to be sure, he can work with Musharraf, but Bush is nothing if not a niave idealogue committed to championing democracy. Isn't that what neocons do? You keep telling me it is....Besides, even Ms. Bhutto said who she would blame in the wake of her death.

Remember Occam's Razor....a far simpler explanation awaits.

Who stands to gain the most (at least in the sick twisted minds of certain neocons), isn't that the first place to look for a perp??

Best Motive In Bhutto
Murder - US, Israeli Control
Of Pakistan's Nuclear Arsenal
By Bruce Boyle
12-29-7

The likely movtive behind Bhutto's assassination: to move US troops into Pakistan in order to gain control of their nukes and to leave Israeli and the US in control of Central Asia and Mid-East and as a stage, or step, building up to a War of Aggression Against Iran. (See http://youtube.com/watch?v=UnychOXj9Tg -ed)

It is the old Empire game of "divide and conquer."

According to Wolf Blitzer (former spokesperson for AIPAC) (and raving Zionist mouthpiece/agent -ed), Bhutto left HIM a letter that blamed Musharaff in the event she was assassinated.
(Right! left it with Blitzer, rather than giving this last speculative condemnation "in the event of" to one of her most trusted political allies within her own party, family, or staff).

Now out of military uniform, and perhaps out of luck, Musharaff blames some 'tribal chief' who in turn denies he would ever "murder a woman." A point also made by Bhutto after the first bombing on her return home.

So, the question becomes, who gains and who losses? Who wanted chaos? Who will exploit this chaos?

By the way, I heard this from a call-in on C-span, and have not directly checked this out, "that in an interview with David Frost that Benazir Bhutto said that Osama Bin Laden was assassinated at the end of 2002" and "claimed she knew who did it, when, and how," and suggested that the subsequent bin Laden videos and audio tapes (reportedly "released by Al Qaeda") are, in fact, "high tech constructs and slick patch jobs produced by a third party." (True and you can see her make this statement at about the six minute mark in the Frost interview).

This information comes from a report from a C-span caller, even if suspect are also questions that are easily addressed to David Frost by the US media, and certainly, at this crisis moment, after her death, after her assassination, important claims worthy of national attention by the American public and media. I must caution, rather than simply ignoring her account, let me point out that as a two-time Prime Minister, Bhutto had both historic and political connections to elements within Pakistani intelligence.

As to the other issue, as reported, Negroponte is a US hit-man. He is thus human scum, and a mass murderer. The Catholic Sisters that protested Negroponte's appointment to US Assistant Secretary of State were protesting "the death squad murders" of Priests, Nuns, women and children in Honduras "under Negroponte's direction." These wannabe fascist, US based murderers, and warmongers ("Neonazicons"' as I call them) are inside the gates, sitting in the corporate board rooms, occupying offices, and are in our halls of power.

Christ.....take a valium and calm down! Any idiot knew that when Bhutto went back to Pakistan the odds were that something would happen to her in some way and that a body bag was in her future. You can bet your ass that her closest friends and advisers told her the same. It's country with more sectarian violence of one sort of another than you can imagine. She was also a woman and it's not a land where many men fancy taking orders from a woman and less yet from a female PM. Religion plays a much larger role in that part of the world than it does in our part of the world and until us stupid westerners (that's Canadians too Swede...not just Cheney and Bush) can get that through our stupid heads, we'll just keep-on spouting ignorance. Let's put it another way.........how many reading this would take orders from their religious leader (if they even have one) and how many would commit a suicidal act for their religion? Get your head around it.....in that part of the world a great many will. They've been fighting one another in that part of the world over religion since before the British even showed up and we are still surprised by the violence?
