I guess its also "recommended" to not let them hit each other eitherThe recommended distance is five miles.

Could have got a little crowded in the ACC...........In another incident two Boeing 757s were 2.8 miles apart as they prepared to land one after the other at the O'Hare Terminal Radar Approach Control center.
