I'm debating whether or not it would be worth to move to NB leaving family and girlfriend to attend Moncton Flight College, I'm interested in their ATP(A) program, or if I should obtain my licenses + ratings at a local flight school. The cost of training will be pretty much the same whether i stay in Montreal or relocate to Moncton what I'm wondering, and probably somebody who attended MFC would know better, is if the quality of training is really worth the move. I got a good vibe out of a school just outside Montreal and I did my intro flight with them but again... I heard great things about Moncton too and their ATP program seems very interesting.
Thanks.

Sounds like pretty misleading advertising to me.
You will NOT get your ATPL at a flight school or
college (snicker). What you will get is just your
private, night, commercial (at 200 hrs) and then
maybe either your instrument or instructor rating.
Dollars to donuts the instructor teaching you
won't even have his instrument rating yet!

Re: MFC Vs local FTU
I'd stick with you local FTU. You had good "vibes" there? Stay with them. A licence is a licence. Small FTUs are taking it on the chin, and a lot of it has to do with "snake oil" salesmanship. You won't get an ATPL from MFC. If you don't have your Private yet, looking at an ATP program is like a kid in JK selecting an MBA school. Stay where you are.
Re: MFC Vs local FTU
Just note, I believe the program he is refering to allows the student to write the ATPL exams with less than the required 750 hours and extends the 2 years to obtain the TT to 5 years. Is it worth doing? not going to go there..... Also 95% of MFC's instructors have IFR ratings because the almost all went through the training program at the college. Is there rating current, or have they ever used it? that is another question.
Where are the boxes???
