How do the wings do it?
Every year the red wings are competitive, and again this year they're unbelievable. Even though their conference is usually weaker that's not the only reason. I can't believe how year after year after year they manage to be competitive, regardless of the retirements they have to deal with. Good scouting? Good trades? Good coaching? What's the secret?
The 3 most important things to remember when you're old:
1) Never pass an opportunity to use a washroom

Montreal's better 
The thing I've noticed about Montreal is they've always been able to aquire good goalies, Roy, Theodore (granted he sucked later on) Huet, Price...all outstanding goalies.
Unlike Vancouver, who, until Luongo came along, went thru what seemed like 3 goalies a year

The Red Wings are so good because of the way in which they draft players.
