One company just disapeard and the other can't keep both it's engines running at the same time, unless of course they're going off the end of the runways. The only real airline can't expand to pick-up the slack due to an agreement with the green machine.
gonna see alot more indians walking in from the north
at least when the company thats left has an engine failure, they return to point of departure, and don't consult best glide speed!
I've noticed you seem to be trying to bash "the green machine" a lot lately! Did we turn you down for a job or something? We do need some people in the janitorial dept, with the amount of bullshit you spew, maybe you could help clean some up!
Dont turn this into a single Vs Multi Debate I'd take a Pilatus anyday. Simple matter is money, you lease a Pilatus for 40K a month (thank you I enjoyed it) or buy a San Anotonio Sewar pipe for a case of lucky and 20 bucks it doenst take a rocket scientist to figure it out who's going to win. Hopefully Perimeter will take some of those Rampies that have been there for 3 years and give them a shot they deserve it.
So on Monday morning is Wasaya / Perimeter going to jack the price up back up?
Hate to say it, but if your airplane is costing 40K a month(then you have insurance, crew cost, fuel, maint etc.) how did you think it would end up? If I were running a business, the Metro is a far better choice. You see, it's all about the bottom line. Not, what the pilots happen to like. And, if you want to make money, without government hand outs (also known as tax dollars) with an airplane, in the north, the Metro is a really good choice. Why do you think the "Green Machine" is still around? Because they haven't been sucked into going off the deep end, and supporting Frank Kelner's thirst for toys!
BTW, I think the word "screwd" has an "e" between the "w" and the "d"?
Oh, prices will be up. Count on it. But I don't have to go between Summer Beaver and Popular Hill....so.....I don't care.
Cheers wtf........go have a beer. Put it on my tab!
D
uh, no offense to the hard working rampies at NAC, but we have our own hard working rampies at Perimeter who get first dibs...
as far as the single vs. multi debate, i understand the Pilatus is a nice machine - just an attempt at humour...
Please...get your facts straight regarding the lease costs, thats not what they were. Do you honestly think the demise of NAC was simply due to the lease costs of the PC12s? Why were they doing so well until...lets see...add a King Air fleet, buid a new 3.5 million dollar facility and pay the overhead, wreck an airplane up north, completely missmanage the company in general, and go head to head with Wasaya in a 10-month price war. No doubt Frank likes his toys but how much do you think he personally gains from these aircraft? Kelner is likely the only reason NAC lasted as long as they did.

If you can't beat 'em...find a smaller guy to fight!

Is this the Frank Kelner you are talking about? Appears he is doing ok????
V. Kelner Helicopters Buys EC 120B
Fort Erie, Ontario-September 28, 2007-V. Kelner Helicopters has purchased a new, state-of-art Colibri EC 120B helicopter from Eurocopter Canada Limited. Founded by Chairman Frank Kelner – the man who brought the Swiss-built Pilatus PC12 fixed-wing aircraft into the Canadian market ten years ago – V. Kelner Helicopters provides charter rotary-wing service from ‘The Lakehead’; a.k.a. the city of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
“I wanted to give my customers at V. Kelner Helicopters an aircraft that is quiet, safe, fast, and truly comfortable to fly in,” says Frank Kelner. “With its forward-facing passenger seats, the EC 120B makes everyone feel like they are part of the crew. This really enhances the customers’ flying experience.”
“This is an aircraft that has kept up with the times.” He adds. “Today’s EC 120B offers the sophisticated level of high performance, passenger comfort, overall safety, and cost-effective operation that I’ve been looking for.”
The Colibri EC 120B is a multi-purpose single-engine helicopter that can carry up to four passengers plus pilot. Inside, the EC 120B is very quiet; 6.6 dB below the ICAO limit, to be precise. Outside, the EC 120B’s Turbomeca ARRIUS 2F turbine engine delivers a fast cruise speed of 223 km/hour and a range of 710 km. Externally, the EC 120B’s shrouded Fenestron tail offers low external noise – 8.5dB below the ICAO requirement – and enhanced passenger and crew safety.
gup_69, I don't seem to be able to find any reference to NAC in my oft quoted post. I was using it to compare it to a Metro. You can assume anything you want from that.
Can you find one from about 10 days ago where they had a medivac in the hold over some Sh%t hole airport, cause their company A/C forgot to call down and clear.
we dont need to call down and clear, we are the only planes in Manitoba, at least I never hear anyone else on 6-7... maybe thats cuz our position reports are so accurate no one else needs to make a call!
If there is ever anyone else out there, we usually just cut them off anyway...but thats only because we've just shut down one engine and need to land ASAP before the other one goes
lets see have i missed anything...
oh yeah...
we're better than you!
hey, i can understand why you hate Perimeter, believe me, I work there... and just look at my attitude, but seriously, why such a hard on for making us look bad on here, when apparently we do a great job doing just that in Manitoba everyday?
but seriously, why such a hard on for making us look bad on here
you do that all by yourself, as for doing a great job. Well I guess most of the engines at your company will be turning tommorow. And in Manitoba I guess that's the mesure of success
Reading this stuff gets me to wondering about pilots.
If you guys had a choice between being the best pilot in Northern Manitoba or having the biggest dick in Northern Manitoba.....which would you choose?

The most difficult thing about flying is knowing when to say no.
After over a half a century of flying I can not remember even one trip that I refused to do that resulted in someone getting killed because of my decision not to fly.
Isn't it so typical of the business. One company has just gone under and everybody is jumping on the bandwagon to offer support to the crews who are having a tough time. On the other hand, those lucky enough to still be working are only interested in tearing each other apart.
It seems the great solidarity is quite selective, not universal.
And you wonder why things don't improve in the industry.
