American flying in Canada?
I live in the US, south of Ottawa, in Ogdensburg, NY. It is amazing that even though Canada is a couple miles away, the barrier the border seems to be. How is the aviation job market in Canada? Could a US pilot commute to Canada and fly for a Canadian company? Is it worth it to do so? For any of you that fly out of Carp, we are on the same frequency and I often hear you. I assume Carp is the GA airport of Ottawa?
Thanks
Kurt

Carp CYRP is a small uncontrolled airport about 20 miles west of Ottawa. Things are picking up hiring wise in Canada but you're probably still better off in the US.

Do you have a pulse, because that is the only thing most 121's are requiring these days.
American Eagle is asking for 450 Total Time. Thats not a typo.

Did they bring back the draft or something?
You can understand how threatened Americans get when outsiders come to take jobs easily filled by the countries own citizens. Don't let the politeness fool you, we are sort of the same way. Market is better in your country anyway.
You like Canada? Come be a citizen, marry a Canadian girl, live a peaceful life, but don't drive across the boarder, pillage a job and drive back each day. With all respect, of course.

I apologize for striking a never with some of you. The only reason I considered a job in Canada was its close proximity to my hometown. Larger cities, such as Ottawa are much closer for me than the nearest large US city. I understand where some of you are coming from, and I have no intentions of taking a job from a Canadian. If any of you are ever in the area stop by Ogdensburg and say hello.

American, Canadian, human being. Give the man a job. All I ask in return is a spot in the ANG flying F-16's on the weekend.
