I read an artical in a magazine once on airfares and how airlines establish such. One item pointed out in this American artical was how airline planners are amazed at how far VFR's (Visiting Friends and Relatives) will drive to save a few bucks and especially if the saving is in taxes and/or enforced charges such as airport departure fees and pay parking. From cheap parking and lower security Red Deer to equally lower security South Terminal, they just might have a winner. It's not that far to drive from Calgary and Lethbridge has a fairly large Japanese community that are fairly affluent and visiting Vancouver is popular. Remenber the families moved away from the coast during WW11. Many settled in the Lethbridge - Taber area and became quite sucessful farmers. Their airplanes sure look pretty.

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.
