Q. How many flight hours will be provided in total?
A. Your flight hours are included in the tuition that you pay for that particular semester. Any Transport Canada fees are extra.
But beware
Q. How many people get to continue to second year?
A. Unlike many schools, Confederation College does not have a quota system. As long as a student meets the required published academic standard and meets the required flight and medical standards you can progress to graduation without having to worry about being "cut out" of our program. http://www.confederationc.on.ca/flight-mgmt/faq.asp
Progression to successive semesters is achieved by passing all courses on the initial attempt with a minimum grade of 70% for aviation core courses, and minimum 60% for service courses. There are also specific flight training objectives that must be achieved in each semester. http://www.confederationc.on.ca/flight- ... #otherreqs

Just thought i'd update for anyone else stuck on the wait list.
They have told me that they will be creating the wait list in March and ranking will be done by mid March.
So if you are on the wait list, call them in the middle of March and they will tell you your position. At least this way we don't have to wait until May to find out if we even have a chance.
thanks for the update man. I dont think ill be getting an admission lol...but my hopes are high so lets c whats up in march. anyone here considering some other college? or have applied to as a back up...i have applied to conestoga, algonquin, centennial and georgian aside confederation.

I was told to call in mid March and they would have wait list rankings. They told me I should receive the letter any day with my ranking...
I called yesterday and the girl said they haven't even mailed any letters out to let people know they are waitlisted.
May 1st isn't that far off now I guess, but is this standard procedure? Do they not realize that going to thunder bay for 2 years is a major event in our lives and we need time to get our shit together?

/end rant
Exactly. Its quite literally p*ssing me off to. Ive been accepted out in BC at Selkirk's program and they want me out there for a tour before the end of april, which in return if i get accepted to confed is a waste of coin...arrhh.
i agree with ya'll... but i guess all we can do is waitttt....and yeah for those that are not sure when they'll get "for sure"answer..its going to be first or second week of may...i hope they take in a large number from the w.list.

I had mentioned before something about a trip to Confed sometime in May. My friend and I are planning a visit for end of May. Anyone interested in joining us???
First of all, I would like to wish you all good luck as well as inquire as to what your rank is on the Confed 2008 waitlist. The ranking should be expressed as a percent and is based on your calculated average by their requirements and standards. If you feel uncomfortable presenting your exact mark posted bellow is a marking scheme that has assigned numbers to express each percentile range.
50-65 = 1
66-70 = 2
71-78 = 3
79-100 = 4
The reason i'm wondering is to see where I stand amongst the pack. So you have the same ability, I will start by stating that I'm within the third precentile.
Theres about 185 on the wait list... and probably only about 10 or 15 of those people use this forum. So i dont know how accurate your standings will be. just to let you know.
Point taken CYQT, thank you. Its still worth a try I suppose. Are there only 60 spots avail. total? Thats pretty tight seeing as 46 have already accepted. Oh well, everyone on the waitlist keep your head up, you never know who might also opt out.
Thats a high avg, im suprised you are on the waitlist. My score was 81 and i was offered admission. Are you sure theres nothing wrong in your application??
Their testing centre lost my mature student test (which I flew to Thunder Bay to complete in January) so I didn't get equal consideration because of the February 1st deadline...All of the marks I submitted were all 80's and 90's.
I think I might ask for an admission review if I don't get in...
