Flying A SOLOY 206 on amphibs.
Hey we are looking at buying a 206 Soloy on Amphibs and was wondering if there is any information a person could pass on particularly when it comes to stated cruise as opposed to actual cruise speeds. Payload absolutely sucks, but for a single engine turbine powered aircraft under 750 g's on floats there isn't much of a choice.
How can you tell which one is the pilot when you walk into a bar?....Don't worry he will come up and tell you.

Couldn't you pick up a turbo Beaver for 750,000$ Might be a little on the ratty side but you'd get alot more plane for your money.

Does it have to be commercially registered?

What about the turbine Maule, payload also sucks but performance is much nicer than the 206.

Yes it will most likely be commercial. As for a Maule never gave that aircraft any thought.

I forgot to add the cruise speed needs to be at least 140 knots, the range at least 3.5 hrs, and be able to carry one other person. The 206 barely fits these requirements, so thats why i was hoping to confirm the stated cruise of 140 if in deed it truly does that. The PC-6 has some great numbers but the speed of 125 knots isn't where it needs to be. As for the Maule i cant seem to find any published cruise speeds, but i cant see the cruise speed being that high nor the range.

I think a person would be a little hard pressed to fin a turbo beaver on amphibs for less than a million.bandit1 wrote:Couldn't you pick up a turbo Beaver for 750,000$ Might be a little on the ratty side but you'd get alot more plane for your money.

whats the last word in the title of the thread?

The only three things a wingman should ever say: 1. "Two's up" 2. "You're on fire" 3. "I'll take the fat one"
