Short on ATPL

Post by freeze112 »

I am reviewing my log book. I work as FO on a two crew plane. I started with low time. I am getting ready for my ATPL. When ready I will have 2900 TT most FO. And only 230 PIC including the 100 under supervision. I am short 20 hours for the 250 PIC requirement. Am I screwed ? Do I have to buy 20 hours ? Or is there a way around this. Any suggestions ?
Thanks

You made the same classic mistake that a lot of folks make. Ya gotta get the time.!! So you gotta go out and buy it, I'd guess. Just get on with it. That stuff costs you money when you get hired on with relatively low time. Sorry, but's that's part of the GA rules as they've always been since the Dead Sea was still just sick.

Too bad it isn't AND/OR like the XC requirment
(c) 100 additional hours cross-country flight time as pilot-in-command or 200 hours as co-pilot or any combination thereof, with flight time calculated in accordance with section 421.10. Flight time as pilot-in-command may be part of the 250 hours pilot-in-command flight time specified in paragraph
P.S. I'm in that boat right now, 50.9 to go PIC or 45.2 Co-PIC ... :x

Don't forget, PIC U/S still only counts as half. Read your company ops manual/Training Manual.

cheers
