Does anyone know what the rules are for a foreign registered aircraft entering Canada with Mel's from the foreign country.
Does TC recognize the MEL's from the foreign Civil Aviation authority? Or do the foreign airlines have to have their MEL's approved for use while the aircraft is in Canadian airspace?
Any one have any comments?

Re: Foreign MEL
The MELS will apply to the state of registry. That is to sya, an "N" registered machine, operated by a US based company , conducting flights into canada, is in compliance with the state of registry, which would be the US. That same US registered aircraft, leased by a Canadian operator for operations based in or out of Canada, would have to ensure that the MELs comply to the operator's approved MEL listing. If no MEL exists, he (the operator) can, where they exists for that aircraft type, use the Manufacturer's recommended MEL listing, OR establish his own.hawker driver wrote:Does anyone know what the rules are for a foreign registered aircraft entering Canada with Mel's from the foreign country.

That's the way it was on the last three lease bridging inspection I had to carry out.
