Thats why the owners of those teams were upset with the current schedule, where the leafs dont travel to the west very much. The games always sell out when the leafs are in town, and lots of leafs jerseys in the stands
I do agree with one point though, the ACC sucks. to much corporate smucks. Unfortunitly the diehard fans, mostly cant afford it and they are sitting in bars, or at home watching the game.
You should see the plan the police have put together in Toronto should the leafs ever win. The city will get torn apart!! New Years Eve times a 100

Subjective Statistics from my time spent travelling:
Outside hockey cities in Canada, I would say people loving the leafs and the habs are pretty close in numbers. However, I have met a lot more people who hate the Leafs, than people who hate the Habs.
Also, Toronto's hockey history is something to be proud of, however, it can not compare to Montreal's hockey history.

I Love the Canadiens dearly. However, I really respect the Leafs also. The playoffs are soooooooo much better when both teams are in together.
The teams I really hate.... Anaheim, Nashville, Florida, and blah blah blah Southern US teams. I cant stand them. In my opinion, they ruin the flow of rivalry's in the NHL.
I think the problem with Betman and the NHL.... is they lack vision. Instead of concentrating their expansion into the States... which really isn't growning the game at all.... they should instead focus the game towards Europe.
IMAGINE!!!.... Teams in Sweden, Finland, St Petersberg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Berlin.... A division of European teams. How awesome would that be!!!???? That my friend is vision. NHL would be one of the most popular sports in the world.
And I am sure the skeptics would say things like... travel would be impossible, and their would only be 6 teams in Europe... BIG DEAL!!! When European teams would come to America to play... it would be rigged up in a fashion where they would come for a month at a time. Most of the games would be played amongs themselves in Europe...
Having these teams would really create worldwide interest and grow the game.
I don't know about you guys.... but when Montreal plays Boston or Toronto or Ottawa... its fuckn awesome!!!! But when they play Nashville on a Tuesday.... its like... who the @#$! cares.
Also... the schedule is way to long. 82 games is overkill. They should bring it down to 75 games. 2 games a week.
Besides that.... Toronto are fun to watch... I wish they had a better team then they do now. Habs will win the cup with price in less than 5 years. You can count on that.
Another rant I have.... We pay taxes for the CBC to run. Yet... the CBC dont like to broadcast Canadian games too often. Since I am a taxpayer... I think this station should represent my best interests... and thats playing Candian games on Saturday night. How dare they let RDS outbid them for Saturday night hockey games. Now Im stuck listening to the games on CJAD over the Internet.

Sorry iceman, I'm no Leaf's fan but these two statements remove any credibility you may have had and show you don't know hockey as well as you'd have us all believe. The Leafs, despite the fact that they are pathetic, are the most profitable team in the league. Any road game they go on, take a look at how many blue and white sweaters are in the crowd.
And for god sake, don't quote Pierre McGuire, the guy is the biggest over-exaggerating colour man in hockey. That's what really shows you have no clue.
It will be interesting to see Pittsburg and Montreal in the East final. Price is good but neither of teams he will face until then will have that kind of firepower.
