Not when I have to secure any items that pose a choking hazard. Show me you can down a bag of Rold Gold Pretzels without nearly suffocating, and we can transfer the term back to the left seat, mmmmkay?

Good posts! I want to remind all you captains out there that you should be sharing your flying - you have a duty to train your knob-puller; the better 'he' gets the better he will make you look and the better your karma will be!

I hope you are not doing an approach in bad weather while you have your knob-puller in action. :smt040

There is actually a productive-side to this post. We should refer to first officers as Second-In-Commands. This serves as a casual reminder to the Flight Attendants (Especially the In-Charges) that they could be receiving orders from the FO should something happen to the Captain - or should the Captain delegate as such. It also serves as a reminder to the FO's that they need to be prepard to be in command of the aircraft, crew and passengers at any moment.

Are you suggesting there are FO's out there that are that stupid that they don't know that simple fact?

I was kind of thinking that these days, it is more like "last officer", unless there is a second officer in the game.
