LOU 43 is a negotiation for Extended Charter Operations (leasing of crews, maint, FA, dispatch) somewhere in the Lesser Antilles. Exact location is not being disclosed, but crew can bid that flying for 30 or 60 days. Pay is 20% more and per diems are $136/day. Sounds like a nice paid vacation.

Wow, that does sound like it could be fun for sure. If you're single of course. Thanks.

Actually it's a 60day minimum commitment, with June being the first month up for bid. I'm wondering if you could bring the wife and kids with you....

I love the down bid, lay off and recession rumors. If nothing more they serve for comic relief.

I think some people are confused with the "equipment bid" which is upcoming. Not the same thing as a "down-bid".
By the way, did you hear that AC is getting 6 new 747-200's!!?? No, for real!!

I heard they were -100's that they got real cheap out of the desert. They're gonna be hiring the first round of SO's anytime now.

Interesting, I'm wondering what kind of profiles they'll be looking for for SOs since they start hiring FOs for the Emb around 2000h TT...
