Why don't you stop being lazy and go out and find a job instead of expecting the job to come to you?

Thank you for the input guys. From where I live I cannot just knock on a door in Calgary in person. Conversations have to statrt first before one spends thousands on trips to potential interviews.

Been there done that! Angola has some great places but for me Luanda is a place I avoid like the plague! I spent a 1 and a half out of 4 and a half years in Angola there. I spent 3 years here during the war and now the last year and a half just now. If you would like any information on what Luanda is like presently you can pm me and I can let you know what I know of it at present. I was there in February for a Aviation Medical as a Maintenance person. Yup you heard right. All people associated with the operation or maintenance of the Aircraft (That includes Flight Attendants and Air traffic require an aviation medical. And not just any aviation medical. You have Xrays, ECG, Eye exam, Dentist, Ear doctor, Blood work, and then you see the signing doctor. This all happens only one day a week at only one location in the whole country. and you have to be at the facility at 6:30 am and your done at 7:00pm at night. Depending of course on how many Aviation personel are going through that day. I was lucky there were seven of us the day I was there and was finished at 5:00 pm!tcasman wrote:looking for engineers on Twin Otters and Beech 1900D...work site is in Luanda/Angola/Africa
All this to check if I had Malaria! Well, get used to it because there is alot more where that comes from! If you can deal with that, you will have a decent time. If you get choked quickly or are impatient Luanda is not for you! If you are super laid back, you can tolerate Luanda! It is improving but it takes time to recover from 30 years of civil war, but they are moving forward so don't come expecting North America standards they just aren't here yet!
Good luck, Hope I didn't scare to many off, Angola does have a lot to offer, I would suggest if you do decide to persue something like Angola, just seeing the country side with a group of people. There are sites Like Kalundula Falls, Huambo, Bengela, Kuito....... that are worth seeing. There are quite a number of places to see around the Lubango area that are incredible and safe to hike (No Landmines here to worry about! Up North they are still trying to dig them all up!)
Anyway, I can probably help out with info on Angola and even some of the operators here so PM if your still interested.
I am not associated with the group posting the Ad but I am vaguely familiar with them.
