I hope for everybody's sanity they won't be merging the pilot groups right away.

Geaorgian normally only has one 1900 clearly painted with company colours.

I'm glad to hear that the Peair pilots will keep their seniority number with the Cargojet Regional pilots ... It's good to see they won't lose anytime they put into PEair with this merge.

Re: Cargojet buys majority stake in Prince Edward Air
I'm wondering why the fact that KFC has a DC10, though not on the ramp yet, will cause CJ to dissapear?
ho ho ho merry christmas
Re: Cargojet buys majority stake in Prince Edward Air
mmm, ACE who.
Cargojet is taking over weather you want to admit it or not. They've come from a small company running a few aircraft and are expanding immensely. Kinda like Westjet did to AC. Cargojet is doing to KFC, they started small so no one worried about them, now there expanding like crazy taking a huge chunk of the market, and are at the point now that there big enough that there not going away, only getting bigger.
KFC DC-10 is just one airplane, its only going to cause problems as they don't have the infrastructure for such an aircraft yet. Sure it will be good after the first year, but until than it'll be a headache, especially with the rising fuel prices.
cheers, let the ranting begin

Re: Cargojet buys majority stake in Prince Edward Air
Hmm you can tell who if playing follow the leader on this one! Cargojet sets in motion the 767 757 plan, the jets will be arriving here in June. The purchase of smaller feeder cargo Airlines to have quality control at all levels of the market, make it easier for the customer to get there product where it needs to go.
As for KFC and there DC10, good luck with that but seems to me like a knee jerk reaction to CJ (if this is true). I wonder why they chose the DC10 with a higher fuel consumption/Maintenance/Crew, wich results higher cost per pound to the customer seems odd to me but what do I know eh.

Re: Cargojet buys majority stake in Prince Edward Air
I hear the KFC DC 10 is for a DND contract to run supplies to Afghanistan. Canada has extended this mission. Lapointe already has a pilot training contract with DND. So, he knows how to negotiate a contract with them. I don't think the DC 10 is to compete with Cargojets 767's.

Re: Cargojet buys majority stake in Prince Edward Air
I thought thats why we bought all them shiny new C-17's, and why not just run the A310 in there? Very interesting indeed, either way more jobs and growth, good for KFC.

Where and from who did you hear this? Has anyone seen a tender for this contract from DND? More than likely the DC10 will run east/west for Purolator, they have been planning a larger aircraft on this for a long time, but then again stranger things have happened.

Great peeps over @ CargoJet...headed by one of many best Opsman this industry has ever produced. Although I have never met him...he understands what it means to 'support' his people.
I hope they don't buy the company where I'm presently working....that would mean I would have to break-in yet another management team.
PS: It's a joke current employer...simply a joke for the masses

Thats funny birddog, my current fellow crew member is telling me you're already toting a rolley-bag around these days. I knew you were playing for the other team
