Hey. The Maintenance is pretty good. The sched could be better, but it's okay. The pay is crap for F/Os, even Capts. You're looking at mid 20's for FO (Remove Quebec taxes to that and you're definately poor...). They look for high time FOs. Around 1500-2000 hours. Lately, a King Air FO was hired with 1700 hours and lots of Turbine Time (600-700). With the turn the industry is taking right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see those numbers go up in the near future. You're in the Males, stay there is my advise. Borek is a good gig. More money in the long run, lifestyle is definately better and sweet airplanes.

Cheers

Thanks for the heads up! Glad to hear the Maint is good, not looking for right now....hope to be based Montreal with Borek since its one of the rotation bases for the northern operations. Then maybe once my year contract is done, i'll look at changing up the DHC6 for something else. When im done my contract i'll have 1400TT with 1000 on Turbine...should be ok. Just keeping an eye out. The money sucks everywhere....but at least this way I might learn some french! Cheers

Naw, love the maldives. Just one tour will be enough. Have 4 months left and quite enjoying every minute! The flying is amazing and getting a raise soon is pretty good! Just looking at the options....never stop looking. Plus im quite looking forward to moving to Montreal when I get back...maybe learn some french...eat some better food! lol. Right now base crew at a Resort for 4 nights a week! Can't beat it!

No need to question him. If he is only planning this one to be his sole tour, it would be stupid of him not to wonder what he will be doing in four months jeez. By the sounds of it he will have no problem sticking it out for 6 months.
