Re: Nakina
An ex-Nakina pilot once asked me: "Are you comfortable doing and NBD APP to ILS mins???? If not, maybe Nakina is not the place for you..."

Flying an aircraft and building a guitar are two things that are easy to do bad and difficult to do right

We're working to change that rep. We cancel along with everyone else these days. Guess you wouldn't know that since you've moved on to Air Canada now. Best of luck to you in your new endeavor.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

That wouldn't be _______, would it? If it is, "looking for jobs elsewhere" seems to be part of his morning routine.Rudder Bug wrote:A high-time friend of mine is there right now and is looking for a job elsewhere. Other than that I don't know much about that company.

Probably best not to use people's names on the public forum without their consent EC. Thanks.

Even more important do you think he would say yes?

I know a couple of the non-management drivers there who didn't want to switch companies for a raise, and seem set on staying for a while. Personally, I think they like most companies, pay more attention to the rules so they can keep crews, and dlients happy these days.
Re: Nakina
Funny how a company with good equipment and pay can slip under the radar.

lol...ok I gotcha now. I had just returned from a 4 day pairing on a new airplane when I read your post, so I was a bit out of it.
Yes, I was told that someone did quit just recently.

Re: Nakina
Perhaps the long time pilot was looking for a place to finish out their career and couldn't handle some of the heavy lifting required. Also there is the possibility that the long timer did not receive any respect for the abilities and experience gained during various tenures. Some of the younger chief pilots see a long timer as a threat to their jobs. Of course if the chief pilots have no people skills it makes things even more difficult.
