One Licence for Canada and Europe

hi everyone, ive heard around that the icao is trying to make a licence that is valid here in canada and in europe as well....if im not wrong, next year in 2009 the process is gonna start, im not sure if its a new licence or if its just that we wont have to convert our licences to europe's and viseversa....anyone have any info on that, perhaps a link or something....thanks

not sure about the europe thing, but we are getting new passport format licenses that will say "Canada" alone.

ps.... TC has said that the upgrade will be free. :shock:

I think you're both talking about different things. In terms of a Canadian licence being accepted in Europe, I'd love to see that. However, the standards are so different between the two, that I don't see this happening anytime soon without any drastic changes. Although I'm skeptical, I'd like to see if anybody has any info on this.
