The latest issue of the Aviation Safety Letter has a story entitled, "Brakes: What's Stopping You?". In this story is an example of how much heat is generated by a light aircraft.
"A light aircraft weighing 1100 lbs and touching down at 60 kt has a KE equivalent to the amount of heat energy required to bring 2 cans of light beer to a boil on a 15C day at sealevel."
I have to admit I found this reference a little surprising rather than giving a quantity of water. I guess pilots can relate better to a quantity of beer.

Then a couple of pages later is a story entitled, "To Drink or Not to Drink". I think Transport thinks we have a problem.
Just remember...most of us are not alcoholics. We are drunks...alcoholics go to meetings!

Disclaimer: The previous joke is not meant to take away anything from or belittle those people who do have a problem with alcohol.
