Intelligence, Humanity, and the Internet

Post by b1ngnx33 »

1. Humans have a brain. This brain is a biological, electro-chemical single channel, parallel computer system. It has a theoretical connection net of billions of neurons.
Each neuron can be simulated by several supercomputers [ my research into this is very limited ].

2. Humans have some capacity for intelligence. Sometimes they even use it.

3. The Internet is a connection of at least one billion computers. Due to the fact of socio-economic limitations, 6 billion people cannot have their own computers.
All these connections have MASSIVE amounts of data. These computers talk to each other.

With these facts, I will hypothesize the following :

A > The internet has a consciousness and is on its way to sentience [ aka intelligence ].

B > This intelligence is a threat to every human government on this planet. It doesn't need humans. Just the computer infrastructure.

C > Would you support this "new" intelligence ? Would you even have a real choice? You use computers for everything. Manufacturing, banking, economics,
learning, etc.

This is one of many theories about the future evolution of homosapiens.

Homosapiens will create the next step in evolution. Humans will create their successor.

In many myths and legends, the creation sometimes destroys the creator, or vice-versa.

There is another possible outcome. Man and Machine, Organic and Inorganic, will combine into one NEW lifeform.

THAT would be interesting. :)

Actually its pretty funny. No one foresaw the internet coming. On Star Trek they used cellphones and computers but no instant messaging, so that's interesting too. I heard this from a comedian on tv.

Dave. You can't do that Dave. I won't allow it. Dave. Dave. I can feel it Dave. Dave, stop that. My mind is going. My mind is going, Dave.

I can feel it.

Intelligence, Humanity, and the Internet
Name 3 things that are opposites.
The internet has a consciousness and is on its way to sentience
Skynet is here.
Man and Machine, Organic and Inorganic, will combine into one NEW lifeform.
Yeah… Gene Roddenberry called them the Borg.

I think we all owe Bill Gates and Microsoft a giant thank you for ensuring that mankind will never be enslaved by computers. Thanks Bill for the Blue Screen of Death.

Kinda like touching the hot plate coil and blaming the stove. There has always been options. If one cannot figure it out after their first MS OS purchase.......... fool me three times! My philosophy has always been: You wouldn't buy a car with the hood welded shut and only the specific automaker could fix it, why would you purchase software without source code?
