Haz, man. You have GOT to come vacation here in Kansas this summer. I can show you those clouds maybe once a week, just before the hail and lightning get really really bad, and well before the tornados hit. Tornado Alley it is.

10+ years looking up at YHM and it's the first time I've ever seen them. I saw a meteorite in broad daylight though that left a smoke trail. Nobody believed that one.

cool pic, those clouds scream stay the hell away from me or I'll eat your plane. The meteorite one sounds cool too, I once saw one at night that was actually big enough to watch it go from a large size to vapour and lit up the cockpit a surprising amount. Jeeze with stuff we talk about about is it any wonder we drive our ladies nuts

Arcus cloud at YTH last summer. Wind shifted about 140 degrees and picked up by 20 or so knots with a BE20 on final. And no, the guy didn't go around.
