Porter wins Bombardier award...and is still hiring!
Porter has won Bombardier's 2007 Airline Dispatch reliability award as the best Q400 operator in the world with a 99.59% ready for service rate. There are 20 airlines flying 208 Q400's currently....as well Porter also has the 2nd best on-time preformance among all north american airlines flying any/all types.

My buddy at Porter loves it and feels like he is treated well. But the reward (huh?), isn't that something that anyone operating with all new aircraft should expect anyways...a reliable dispatch record. (AC's EMJ excluded of course). Bombardier gives out an award for this?

Actually, most airplanes - including specifically Porter's Q400s - need to be broken in to iron out kinks. The Q400s that have been in the fleet 6 months or more are much more reliable than the ones that come fresh off the line. Plus, most of the Q400s in the world are fairly new since the aircraft really only started selling in bulk the last 5 years. But having said that, it is nice to fly new reliable equipment!Stick-Shaker wrote:My buddy at Porter loves it and feels like he is treated well.
