Cornwall 47k
Toronto 2.5million
Hell 12$/hr job in Cornwall is considered above average wage !!!
I'l agree that 18$ is on the low side; comparing that some other small towns (30k+) near Toronto start their Class 4's at 25$

Re: cornwall aviation
it is very very strange as customer pays 42$/hr for "instruction"
some $ get lost in outerspace it seems...

Re: cornwall aviation
42$/hour for "Instruction" is on par with most schools in Ontario.
Once again using, the same school as my previous post, they are charging 50$ for PPL/Night, and 55$/hr for Advanced (Multi, IFR, CPL)
The money doesn't get 'lost' in space, it ends up paying the "operational costs" to maintain the school/fleet and the rest is 'found' in terms of profit in the schools owners pockets
When those "operational costs" go up, so does the price of Instruction, however, the Instructor's pay stays the same

Seneca? ... You'll be waiting a while.LOCBC wrote:Do you happen to know, what is waiting time to fly the Seneca? as a Instructor?

Although it was a little while back (maybe 3-4 months) they were looking for experienced Multi Instructors, in the Employment Section.
Not sure if they've filled in that spot. AFAIK, there's the CFI and another Class 1 doing multi training, not sure about the other instructors.

in other schol instructing time is 42 and instructor get 32
something is wrong somewhere.
Re: cornwall aviation
From a student's perspective, the school is run very efficiently. The CFI basically does MOT rides. The 2 Senecas are well maintained with WAAS enabled dual 430's. While the training on those was great to get through the ride, it hasn't helped in real life (basic on route GPS and legend guages for approaches). But hey, get a license..lthen learn to fly!!

What little I do know is either not important or I've forgotten it!

Re: cornwall aviation
Air richelieu in CYHU charges $54/hour for the sucker in the right seat and pays him $15... anyone can beat this?
Re: cornwall aviation
Southern interior flight centre's (kelowna - carson air) instructor payscale begins at $12/hour, for a class 4 with no college diploma or multi ifr - school instruction rate is $50/hour. Having a diploma or multi ifr adds $2/hour
