Canadian Pacific Crash in BC

Hello Everyone,
I'm searching for some information of the July 8th '65 crash of a CP DC6 "Empress of the City of Buenos Aires" that occured near 100 Mile House BC. I've read a little about the history of this incident on the web, and I have heard that the wreckage of the aircraft was never removed and is still relatively untouched. I'd like to know if anyone on here knows it's exact location or if there any pictures of the crash site. I am planning a adventure to this site in the next few weeks and I'm having trouble finding anyone who knows solid directions to the site.
Any help of info would be appreciated!

I know this won't narrow it down enough, but I'm of the understanding it's near the old Dog Creek airstrip.

Anyone know anything about that Dog Creek Airstrip? Three runways in the middle of nowhere! Somebody must have thought it was worth the effort.

Hi CYWL,
That was a terrible accident.
If you do go to the crash site I would be interested if you saw a rebuilt engine block for a Triumph TR3 in the dross of that accident.
I was working in Prince George at the time and had the block shipped on that flight.
Mail was never delivered from that flight also. I was engaged at the time and was getting regular mail..Some of the letters never arrived.

I am planning a trip to the site in the next few weeks. I have it's location narrowed down and have some good maps of the area. It should be fairly easy to find. I'm told that most of the a/c is still there. Something like an engine block should have survived fairly well after all this time, so I will definately take a look for it. I will take a bunch of pics while at the site, and if I'm lucky enough to spot the engine block I will snap a pic of it for you.

How could you not find the crash site..the link above http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMV2P says it is at N 51° 36.412 W 121° 46.148.
All you need is a handheld GPS. Sounds like it has a trail right to the site.

Dog Creek was a 'secret' WWII training base. On old charts you will see that there was a radio range there. You can see some of the outlines of the old foundations of the buildings there still - I've flown low over it a few times but never had the appropriate a/c with me to land there!

You can land anywhere once .Using the airplane again may not always be possible
