engines for 7eca
who knows what engines can be put on 7eca? we using o235 lc2 now but what bigger HP. can we put o320 on or other 0235 with cheaper silinders
Re: engines for 7eca
Im not certain about a different variant of the O-235, but as far as I can recall, you can install an O-320 under STC, I'll see what I can come up with.

I believe we have a fellow on our field that put a big engine with full electrics in his 7ECA. The problem is there are stc's to do this. But the usefull load drops, as your fuel demand increases. I think the usefull load on his is about #380. Not much for two passengers that eat at McD's once in a while and fuel.

One of our Citabrias has the O320. Its a 7GCBC, but as mikegtzg said, the fuel burn goes up and the useful load becomes useless. Pilot, pax and maybe 2 hours of gasohol. If you're lucky. But thats the 7GCBC. The 7ECA might be a bit better.
Best bet would be the O235, imho. Careful with the cheaper cylinders though...
