Advice for Right Seat PPC ride BE20

Post by victory_aviation »

I am doing a PPC ride on the BE20 this week and I am looking for a bit of advice. This is my first 703 PPC so I am wonding what IFR questions I might be asked that are different from the normal Group 1 IFR ride. Is there anything special that I should study?

There is not much different. I would recommend knowing your Ops Manual. IE if your company has any ops specs know them and the requirements for them. If you don't know them for sure, know where to find them. Know the approach ban as well.

cheers

just remember its a 2 crew ride. If your unsure of something (say a hold entry or PT) ask the pilot side beside you - do you agree? Can't fail you for asking, might get a debriefing point on it.

Take all the time you need - don't rush briefings, holds, approaches or aircraft configs before doing an upper air excercise.

When doing your upper air work give a briefing before doing the steep turn, and get the pilot beside you work the power levers for you if you want. IE "this will be a steep turn to the right, call any altitude, angle of bank, or airpseed deviations, call 15 dgrees prior heading 360, please add 200-300 FT LBS rolling through 30 degrees and remove it through 30 degrees." There is nothing wrong with this and is allowed.

take your time, relax, and use the person beside you as much as you want.
