Good news for Quebec economy as natural gas discovery is big

I know this is old news....but apparently, the new natural gas discovery in the St-Lawrence low lands is huge. According to recent test, the reserve will be able to produce 1 million cubic feet per day. test have also concluded that very little impurities exist.

First production is set to begin in 2009, with full production beginning the following year. It looks like the field might be able to produce billions in royalty revenue for the provincial & federal government. The company that is working the field is called questerre.

Given the fact that all the homes in New England are heated by natural gas, & the fact that they are building a pipeline from the Riviere du loup port to the U.S, this might be very good for Quebec's economy!
