i know this has been repeated 100 times...
My IFR expires 1/10/2008 but i am in the middle of a JAA conversion and don't want to spend a bunch of money for a currency that i am not using now.
Do i have to repeat the INRAT if i want to do the ride at the end of the year?
Thanks to everybody that answer!

" Where an instrument rating has lapsed for more than 24 months, an applicant for renewal of an instrument rating shall have passed the flight test and obtained a minimum of 70% in the written examination (INRAT) described in the Knowledge Requirement above."
"Over the years many Canadian Airline Transport and Commecial Pilots have left Canada to pursue job opportunities around the world. The subject of the 24 month validity period for the IFR written examination after an instrument rating has expired has been explored many times. These pilots are working in different countries around the world in the IFR environment with a member state of ICAO issued ATPL or CPL. These pilots consider it is unfair to have to return to Canada to write the Canadian INRAT exam as part of the Canadian instrument rating renewal process."
