Does anyone here have Bell express view?

Post by KAG »

I recently had bell placed in my home. What a pain in the ass! Everytime a cloud goes over head the Sat goes grainy. God help me if it actually rains. My Bell internet (sympatico) fails about 10 times a day. I have to reboot the modem everytime the comp is turned on, hybernates, and has too many web pages (more then 3) at a time and is left alone for a few minutes. I seriously disapointed, and have expressed it to bell, but they don't seem to be able to do anything shy of charging me for a tech to come out and fix the crappy install.
Stay away.

Dunno about the rest of your problems, but what
percentage signal strength are you showing on
your receiver?

Maybe you need to re-aim your dish, or maybe
it's located somewhere that's blocking it's view?

I had Bell Express VU and its loooong gone. Complete crap, run by morons that charge you too much to boot. Total waste of time. Then when you tell 'em to stuff it, they say there is a disconnection charge. I said, "see you in court" and gee, they never charged me... go figure.

I haven't had any problems with mine in 4 or 5 years. I can't remember it ever going out in bad weather.

Same goes for my Sympatico DSL. It's always been the full 5mbps that they advertise.

I am assuming you expressed your disappointment via email, because none of the customer service reps on the other end of the phone speak or understand english. I am starting to doubt thier call center is even in an english speaking country.

We've had Expressvu since 2000. We typically won't lose signal unless the rain is very heavy or in the winter when we get wet, heavy snow accumulating on the dish (a well aimed snowball fixes the latter!)

Like Hedley said, check your signal strength. Anything less than about 85% and you'll have problems. Easy to realign yer dish for improved signal.

Any probs I've had have been fixed in an expeditious manner. Our PVR when tits up 2 years ago and we had it replaced no ?? asked.

I had nothing but problems with the reception on mine also.

This spring I bought a Hughes Net internet sat. dish and the hardware that goes with it, as well I bought the LBN that receives the bell express view TV.......Wow what a difference it made once I switched to the Hughes sat dish, my TV reception is excellent now and never loses its picture...

The Bell Express View dish is the problem.

love ours, no problems. I had it hooked up in Alberta, moved to BC and carried the feed with me. When I buy the hockey package, they still think I live in AB, so I get all the Vancouver Pay per views included. I would have to shell out for the AB pay per views but who cares. You can also have up to 6 receivers in one house. However, a bunch of receivers are scattered across BC and AB, all on my account (allegedly all in my house). So we all just split the bill, making HDTV super cheap!!!!!

why steal sat, when you can split the bill

Son, someday you will make a girl very happy, for a short period of time. Then she`ll leave you and be with new men who are ten times better than you could ever hope to be. These men are called pilots.

Had it since 2001 and only have issues in heavy rain and mine has to grab a signal that comes through a forest and part of my roof, still at 93% most days. Customer service does suck, they are extremely friendly but have no idead what they are doing expect for what it says in front of them on their help screen.

The best part about Bell is Free to Air receivers. I get everything, get to play with key codes once in a while.

If your north of 60, you need the larger dish, I believe it's a 1 metre.

Cable for high speed and phone lines.
