Well...it looks like I just got 7 new mentors for the Avcanada 'Echo' mentor program.
Congrates boiz n guurls, you all have an excellent outlook on the industry...and you love your 'flying' job

(as do I).
When can you ALL start?
(Ya didn't think that I was just a pretty face, did ya!?)
I appreciate the replies, this post was initially made in jest. An interesting turn of this post that I did not anticipate.
I have found if you take yourself too seriously, other groups within this community are going to laugh at ya and not respect you. It's bad enough we (flight crews) are considered the "Peacocks" of the industry...we don't have to fuel that misconception of many good people by a few bad cocky apples.
Although this job is serious, I find I get more respect from people within and outside of the industry if I humble myself to them. There are some pilots that I just want to choke the epauletts off of them for being so phaquing cocky and sometimes just plain rude to others.
If I were incharge of the course outline @ one of these aviation college programs, there would be a class dedicated on industry edicate..and if you failed to grasp the concept of not being an idiot, you couldnt get your diploma.
airs
A peculiar or characteristic impression;
An affected, often haughty pose; affectation.
affected manners intended to impress others
"don't put on airs with me"
Pardon the pun...however the time for having "airs" is over. But the time to realize the fragility of this industry and how ANYONE is threatened and sometimes subjected and fall off of their perch is a very real life reality. Our friends @ Zoom are the very recent ones to understand this.
Take pride in your career...but don't look down at people that also take pride in their chosen careers is all I am saying here folks. Nothing more, nothing less.
In conclusion, I model my professional attitude after a professional car driver in the Forumla 1 circuit. Mr. Ayrton Senna was once at a cocktail party and the wife of an important man tried to lightly riducule Mr. Senna about his job.
"You're just going round and round in circles...I don't see why you should get paid an exorbant amount of money for that!...ppphht!"
Mr. Senna turned to her and with perfect tone and precise wording, and due respect explained the details in laywoman's terms the intricacies of the sport and the history as well as regarding the significance of F1 has had on combustion engine technology that employs many of the worlds smarter minds and the technical break throughs from this sport and engineering of these engines, are applied to such common things as airtravel and safety of everyday passenger cars.
She ended up being a big supporter of the sport. Her name was Mila Mulroney.
If you don't believe the level of class any professional can attain...click on my Jackie Stewart link below. Like I said, I model my professional career edicate after this man.
