If they have a candidate in my riding, I'll consider it. I will also consider the platforms of all of the parties and independents running in my riding. Then I will make an educated choice.

I can't wait!

The guy’s an activist without a brain. He used the U.S. mail service to distribute (what they consider) an illegal substance. If he kept his mailings to Canada and Holland; no harm no problem.
He broke U.S. law by using the postal service. He knew what he was doing. What he hoped to achieve is another story. I’ve seen and read interviews and he is something of a libertarian.
That’s not a bad thing to be, in my opinion. He should stick to pushing nanny state laws in Canada that need challenging.
You will note, that the Conservative Party was not in power when he was arrested.

The DEA has offices in many other countries around the world, and the same can be said for Customs Canada. Furthermore, as Canada does have a extradition treaty with the US, we are obliged to extradite known criminals to the US, and the US vice versa if requested by the government.

It's not deportation, it's extradition. I agree though, they get a little carried away with sentences down there. As for the DEA having an office, what difference does it make? They're not empowered at all, just paying to rent office space.

Great fucking plan. Let's just stick our head in the sand and ignore the dangers of the world.

no not ignore, just find a way to lessen the risks to people for going to war for oil and agendas put upon us by people whose only desire is to get rich or side with other nations whose agenda is different than our own.. war is a business

best you vote for the most probable political war faction candidate if that is what you believe in
I think much of Harper's campaign money comes from his mail order tinfoil hat store.

If more people would get on-board I would like to send a strong message to both the Liberals and Conservatives, wouldn't they shit if the NDP got a minority government? This would only work if it was a minority.

Anyway, who are the parties flying on? Air Canada? I heard the Liberals chartered Zoom :)

Its just amazing how many people will sell their freedom for a few % of tax cuts.
The press will tell you how harper is running the most closed government ever. Vast majority of people want our troops to defend the borders not being killed in some thrid world country. But harper works for the corporations not us.

He stands by as the oil companies destroy the environment in alberta. When your kids get cancer from drinking out of those wells just remember the tax cut
Now we see the cuts to the cultural background of our great country. He'd might as well stand by and let the musuems be looted like in Iraq. Our culture is now about Ipods and Tvs.

Get ready for a big crackdown on freedom in the coming years to match the USA. Yes the other choices are garbage but we mut stand up for our freedom.

Hey canwhitewolf

It looks like some American Senator also voted for the same bill that Stephen Harper did. You seem to be the ignorant one...not habit.

http://www.city-data.com/forum/immigrat ... ecome.html

Becoming Illegal: An actual letter from an
Iowa resident and sent to his Senator

The Honorable Tom Harkin
731 Hart Senate Office Building
Phone (202) 224 3254 Washington DC , 20510

Dear Senator Harkin,

As a native Iowan and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue
Service, I am writing to ask for your a ssistance. I have contacted
the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the
process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S.
Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently
passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my
understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has
been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to
become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three
of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am
anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay
taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two
years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any
way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an
excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004
and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local
emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have
stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I
could save almost $10,000 a year.

Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my
daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law
school applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many
colleges throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the
burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome
car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I
still have college age children driving my car.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become
illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary
forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for you r assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,
Donald Ruppert
Burlington, IA
