The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

How is it not a privilege (dropped the D just for you  ) to the general public to hop in a pressurized tube and haul off across countless timezones and kill days of normal travel time ? Vancouver to calgary would take you around 12hrs on a good weather day by car and most likely over 100 bones in fuel and pit stops. By air? 1hr 18 mins. Thats a privilege! YYZ-YVR? 5hrs in the air.. a MINIMUM 3 days by road (if you never stopped and broke speed limits) and don't forget the costs of meals and hotel rooms now needed too!! Very much a privilege.

Not everyone can afford to fly and not everyone should be able to either. Especially at the cost of those that provide the service.

And those of us that fly for a living have earned that privilege by spending our time and money on attaining the licences and minimums and flight times required. If we as humans had the RIGHT to fly.. the powers that be would have given us wings from birth..

Nobody is entitled to ANYTHING. You want something? you feel the right to something? Work for it. Attain it. Pay for it. Thats life my friend and there aint no way to change it.

Birrdoggy.. The last year has changed my perspective so immensely I don't even know where to start! I'll give you a shout here shortly

Comedic timing is everything, without visuals...I guess it missed it's mark with some...but fun for me none the less. Thanks for reading.

Word of advice, "Chicks" don't like it when you call them "Broads" :D

This thread has the Haza seal of approval.

I've seen too many dangerous mistakes made on the ground because pilots or student pilots had there heads in the freaking clouds and no clue what was going on around them at all times. Sometimes a little reality slap helps us all.

As my youngest daughter used to say when asked:
"My dad is a Peanut" :smt023

Still better than "My dad pee a lot"

If someone asks what I do for a living I tell them I am a pilot. And then we, um, talk about other stuff.

I had no idea it was all so complicated.

I have decided this is not a forum, but a place where folks with personality disorders can meet and compare notes. Faked self-loathing, woo hoo what a party!

This coming from a person that chose the user name "complexintentions"?!?!

You know...admitting it is the first step to recovery.
