Where do you draw the line on that one? Then on every flight test you should be required to demonstrate a forced approach from every possible scenerio. The same with all the other excercises.

That is the purpose of your Class 1. To teach you how to teach the different exercises from different circumstances and make sure you are proficient before sending you for your class 4 ride. Same as an instructor should demonstrate many variables of stalls and forced approaches.

The flight test takes a random sampling of the exercises or lessons and works on that principle. Maybe not ideal, but more efficient and economic than demonstrating at length each exercise.

If the above comment was a sarcastic remark, disregard my response. :)

If they limit the industry to good instructors, there wouldn't be as many of them and thus their wages would go up. That's all I am getting at, there are instructors that are not getting paid like professionals. Having an authority that tests properly and has some better method of putting out instructors would be one of the many improvements one can make :)

If you tried to test all 30 exercises you would be in the air for 3 hours. Who could concentrate for that long, you would have to do it in 3 flights.

There are only 2 useless things in flying; Runway behind you and air above you.

If this is the concern it would probably be best from TCs perspective to do all the training for the Instructor Rating with a TC inspector. Then when complete the inspector has the knowledge of whether you are competent or not without the need for a flight test. Or do the same thing with a designated person.

It would never fly, but would be a better situation for that examiner to know your capabilities.

the instructor test was the easiest test i have written next to the iatra.

But as as already been said, you have to know your stuff. Study up the the learning factors and how to deal with different personalities... ie. projection, i cant remember the rest of them right now.
