M1 or M2 VLJ's

Post by CBAME »

Goodday.

I am curious as to what others think about the new VLJ (Vary Light Jets) and weather they should be M2 aircraft, which is what the back of our licence says they are.

To me I think Transport should come up with a way for the VLJ's to be either M1 or M2 provided you have the proper approved annual or bi-annual training, (type course).

Just my opinion I am curious to hear about others.

Turbo Fan = M2.... simple. I am not sure for the reasoning behind that, as most turbo-prop powerplants are more complicated and maintenance intensive than turbo-fans.
