I had a blast at the Ship Inn when I was there years ago.
I remember stumbling up a narrow street to get there. It's just off the main bar strip.
Ask anyone downtown where it is and they'll tell you. The people of St. John's are friendly as hell. If I could get a flying or machining job there, I'd move in a heartbeat.
Have fun!

Interesting-I didn't know that.wicki wrote:Nightlife
St. John's is reputed to have the most bars per capita of any city in North America; George Street in downtown St. John's is reputed to have the most bars per square foot in North America.
Then I see:
Most bars per square foot-and Most scientists and engineers per square foot.. The city's economy is growing quickly, and the city has been identified as having one of the highest proportion of scientists and engineers per capita of any city under one million population in North America.
I get this image in my head of drunken engineers in bar fights with Scientists
I should start a poll thread about which side would win....

YES! Chess's is worth checking out. Don't forget to tell them it's your first time there. You get a certificate with your name on it to frame.
