Edmonton Flight Schools

Post by Johnny C »

Looking to do multi IFR training around Edmonton. So far I've found:

-Centennial Flight Centre
-Edmonton Flying Club
-Cooking Lake Aviation Academy

Are there others? And any recommendations?

I did all my training and later instructed at the Edmonton Flying Club, so I know that they have a first rate organization and would recommend it to you without hesitation. That being said, I suggest visiting each school if you can and talking to them to see which meets your needs best. The Flying Club operates a Twin Star with G1000, if that's the sort of thing that interests you. All the simulator training is done on the traditional steam gauges, so you get exposure to both ways of doing things. I think Centennial still has their Seneca, and if I'm not mistaken Cooking Lake has a Twin Comanche.
