Re: DHL Express Cuts US Domestic Service
The way I see it with UPS Potentially flying the US Domestic cargo for DHL it could go two ways. CargoJet could just feed into the UPS Hub at Louisville, Kentucky instead of the closing DHL Wilmington Ohio hub. However with UPS having a 757 to YVR and an A300 to YYC, it would make business sense to for UPS/DHL to put that cargo onto those UPS flights. Doing that would negate Cargojets YVR-YYC-ILN run.
DHL's Canadian Domestic Freight would just feed into the other Cargojet flights, depending on what happens at worst Cargojet would loose is one flight.

Re: DHL Express Cuts US Domestic Service
The paper today reported just shy of 15000 DHL jobs lost.

Re: DHL Express Cuts US Domestic Service
I think the 15000 includes the previous restructuring of over 5000 jobs in addition to the 9500 they announced this week. I read they will be down to about 3000 employees in the US after January.
They say they are going to keep doing international destinations from the US, but I really have to wonder how much confidence shippers are going to have with them. Or are going to want to bother with 2 couriers now, if they have to use somebody else for their domestic anyway.
I also wonder what the lifespan for DHL Canada is now that they will be somewhat of an island to themselves as far as the execs back in Germany are concerned.
