Instructor Rating?
I have just finished my multi ifr and have sent out the CVs, in hopes someone will hire a low time pilot like myself. I am now contemplating beginning my Instructor rating.
What do you guys think? Is it worth getting? All comments would be much appreciated

so, you are thinking about getting the instructor rating to jump-start your "real" flying job that comes later? Do us a favour and forget about it. If you aren't 100% dedicated to being the best teacher you can be,
what kind of pilots will you produce? The sh*t that all the other half-hearted instructors around the country are producing as well! When you get in the aircraft with a student, who will the flight be for? Will you be thinking about right seat in some twin turbine, or will you be thinking about what the student can learn in this session? Answer that question for yourself.
Is it worth getting? In your case, probably NOT.

mi24hind:
I agree that there are instructors who only give it half, but I used the Class IV to advance my career, and I don`t believe that I put out any sh*t students. My goal was to make them a better and safer pilot than I was at the beginning (and possibly now
). There is nothing wrong with using the system as a stepping stone, and enjoying it while you`re doing it. I found instructing to be rewarding and a confidence builder, and I would do it again the same way, even though I knew I was not going to be instructing very long (or I hoped, at least).
PTC:
You have to give it your all, and when you do, you`ll see the difference in both yourself and your students. You`ll never forget the first guy you send solo, and the feeling it gave you to see him go (and come back).

mi24hind you are definately a negative person, considering I never once said why I was thinking about doing my instructor rating. the fact is I have been thinking about doing it for quite sometime and there are some great clubs in my area who are looking for instructors. if I do decide to do it, it will be because I want to teach people how to fly.
