Captain Swallow/First Officer Hiscock
I finished a four day pairing yesterday as Captain of the Swallow/Hiscock crew. I suppose it had to happen sooner or later.
The flight attendants were gracious and avoided the use of last names in their announcements.

If they did use the last names it probably would have made CBC news within an hour of touchdown

Re: Captain Swallow/First Officer Hiscock
I had volunteered for overtime over the long weekend, and crew sked called with a pairing, which I accepted.
Good thing the F/A's weren't four gay fellas. Might have made for some awkward moments.

Re: Captain Swallow/First Officer Hiscock
I have been on a few WJ flights where they didn't use the pilots last names. Captain John and First Officer Matt or something is what they say...
I guess I can stop wondering why

Deflux,
the flight attendants apparently received a directive (of some type, others will know better) within the last 6 months or so to use the last names of the pilots in their 'welcome aboard' announcement following door closure. Something about it being more professional sounding.
i.e. "Your Captain Bob Smith, First Officer Jim Mckay" ...

We once had a captain who's name was Harry Thompson, and his F/O was Mark Bawls. That's right, it's the Harry - Bawls crew.

Am I the only one that finds this thread to be professionally embarrassing? It is very immature, ingenious humour. Sort of like when you watch a stand-up comic dying a slow painful death on stage but is too egotistical to realize that the shit just aint funny.

I'm sorry man. If it hadn't actually happened I wouldn't have started the thread. Perhaps you could run a poll to see if we should delete the thread.

Maybe we should just move the thread to the 'humour' thread or whatever it's called.
