Victoria gigs?
does anybody know of any decent corporate companies based in Victoria? or if any of them might be hiring in the next few months?

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

VIH has a Hawker but your chance of getting on it is slim to none with the latter being more appropriate. Both the guys flying it have been doing Corporate stuff for a long long time and one is doing it as a post retirement gig.
Don't know much about the Pacific Sky stuff other than the people who are on the Conquest come from within the company.

Re: Victoria gigs?
My point was do you know how many AC pilots live in Victoria retired or about to retire?
And as for the VIH Hawker it is a retired BCGAS man and there are a whole handful of them in the wings.
So unless you have some good contacts in the area, which you probably dont by your question then like NS said take a number.

Re: Victoria gigs?
When you say "AC pilots" do you mean 'aircraft' or 'Air Canada'? The later is not a benefit on the island unfortunately. In fact some think with the mindset that (not my quote): 'They're too stuck in their' union ways to fit into many corp ops'. Though that quote certainly doesn't say that an individual could 'never' get into an operation. However, considering the ops ... not likely. As a previous poster mentioned, most will hire from within.
Strangely, it seems, the island can be quite closed off to any of the 'Big Boys' regardless of company. It's a lot of who you know x10.

Let me just say we are done with the carry-on baggage discussion.

painting with a wide brush aren't we? there's all types at AC, as with any large company. I know of AC guys that have fit in well in corporate ops, and I am sure there are guys that wouldn't. Just like the general population.undashflyer wrote:When you say "AC pilots" do you mean 'aircraft' or 'Air Canada'? The later is not a benefit on the island unfortunately.
