Hang in there bud, been there. I was layed when I was right in the middle of a renovation of my house. Don't panic there is still a shortage of AME's. Good luck man.

Considering a bunch were just laid off, I would dissagree...

Have you not looked at the Aviation Job Ads there Strega on the forum? Or the Canadian Job Bank? There are piles of jobs available.Considering a bunch where just laid off, I would dissagree...
Nice spelling by the way
Re: lay offs 9 days before xmas
Thanks to the spelling police, I have corrected my mistake...

Ok then I'm the Douche-Bag police...erase your whole post cause it has no relevance...you just shoot off nonsense just to start crap you know nothing about. You say there are no jobs...ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?? I could do a few searches in 10 mins and come up with at least 30-40 opportunities in Canada, more overseas. Every post you make here proves time and time again you have no clue what is going on in this industry. Do you even know why Pasco might be laying off...probably not, this why you are just a troll and nothing more. I will be asking one of the moderators to monitor your posts cause they have no place here and as far as I'm considered your not welcome.
This is a maintenance forum...you claim to be more than that so please do not post with us "technicians" any longer, my post was to offer support to peer and share my experience with him and give him some hope in a real crappy situation, you essentially pissed all over my post with your smug remark.

You say there are no jobs
Actually I didnt, I merely mentioned that if people are being laid off, it might suggest there are not "piles" of jobs available.
Troubleshot, you are one of the most unprofessional members of this forum, with your name calling and such.
What the guys from pasco need in these uncertain economic times is to face the reality of the situation at hand, ie they might not be able to find work in the near future, and make according concessions.

Viking, go build twotters. They bought Spar YYC's hanger a couple of years ago. I have a feeling that they are going to be eyeball deep in work. Oh and when Pasco does the call back, you know, on monday...How many do you think the will get back? Its Christmas it's either dead or stupid and we are bitching about having to work. It will be going off again, if you're worth your salt you won't have time to even think about applying for EI.

Re: lay offs 9 days before xmas
What about Carsonair? They were in need of guys not that long ago in YVR. Pretty good place , except for one individual. If you're from pasco, you should have a good idea who I mean...
Might try CMA also.
Other than that, KFC is trolling once again, after having just "laid off" recently, but i have no idea if their just fishing to see who's out there, or if they actually need guys.
Calgary is the other place I've been hearing is busy.
Good luck.

Yah CMA/NTair... Harbour etc. A few of them were looking for people.
So I guess the seaplanes are still not flying at Pasco? Sorry to hear they cut a bunch of guys before xmas... I always wondered why companies can't wait till the holidays are over to do this?
There is work out there. More m1 than anything else. So you should be ok.
G-luck and try to have a stress free holidays with some extra time off.

Then Field must be totally closing the door then. There is already nobody there, but they are making more money probably leasing out the hanger space.

Re: lay offs 9 days before xmas
All it said was that the MRO facility was being shut down but the Parts Manufacturing and Engineering was still going. I have no idea how many people work there now, they referred to having some Dash 8 and military contracts I think. Of course, we all know how accurate the press can be though.bombardierfixer wrote:Then Field must be totally closing the door then.
